SciFan database update
Sophie has been busy making sure we had a comprehensive database of books for the past two years. We're now past 7,500 authors, 35,000 books and 3,500 series. Also, more than 80% of our books are categorized in at least one theme, so you get an idea what they're about.

Do you read the the prequel first or after the regular series?
In this thread at rec.arts.sf.written several people argue that it's best to read a series in its publication order, rather than following its internal chronological order (even against the advice of authors,) which is however how we chose to order our series listings. Since we also provide the first date of publication for most books, either choice is fine with us!
