  In Florida in the 1950s, Christopher Nix and his family set up a tourist attraction called "Dogland" and cause tumult in the community because of their belief in integration. In this bitter community Christopher finds friendship with two strange residents who never seem to age--one a black man who tells stories of ancient times, and the other a Seminole woman intent on protecting the Fountain of Youth.
