      A mysterious and dramatic novel in which the medieval world confronts our own.

    The two sections of the novel, medieval and present day, correspond to an occult system. Walter is a gifted young singer who leaves his home in Germany in search of fame and love. His adventures lead him through 12th century Europe. Fast-forward to the 20th century----An Oxford don dies, leaving specific instructions in an occult manuscript based on Walter's life.
