Tara Buckley is the pop-singing sensation of the early 23rd Century. For most people that would be notoriety enough, but Tara becomes a hero when she unwittingly foils an assassination attempt at one of her concerts. Small problem: The assassin is now after her, not to mention a cunning government agent who believes Tara knows more than she’s telling and an interplanetary mega-corporation that just might be mixed up in the whole business.

To save her own life, Tara must investigate the crime. For help, she turns to a family friend named Matt Gamble, an ex-Marine with his own reasons for wanting to find and punish the killer. Now the two of them will follow a trail halfway across the Known Galaxy, face off with the worst characters in the galactic drug trade, and possibly start a revolution or two, all to find the answer to the puzzle. It’s a truth they’re probably better off not knowing…
