Scottsdale, Arizona, April 11, 2002 -- Today, Making the Impossible, a new production company, in cooperation with Toad Hall Press, announced the release of "Attack of the Rockoids" in a high quality paperback format, with full-color cover. The book is the first in a series of science fiction adventure stories. The novel is co-authored by Gene Steinberg, a well-known technology journalist and his 16-year old son, Grayson.
"Attack of the Rockoids" tells the incredible tale of a man who is haunted by dreams of battles in space and a beautiful, alien woman. The exciting, spell-binding novel takes the hero over 200 years into the future where he finds the woman of his dreams, only to discover she is leading an armada of spaceships on a mission to destroy the Earth.
"My dad and I talked about this novel for two years before we wrote it," said Grayson." We also have a Rockoid theme song that is being written by a well-known composer for use in our series."
To introduce the new series, Gene and Grayson Steinberg have announced a "Name the Spaceship" contest. To enter, all contestants have to do is send an e-mail suggesting a name for the flagship of the alien armada. The winner will not only receive a Sony PlayStation 2 game console, but become an actual character in a forthcoming novel in the series. Other prizes include a Sony 600-CD changer, official Rockoids T-shirts and posters. The special contest page is available at http://www.rockoids.com/contest.html.
The novel is available for order direct from the Rockoids Web site (http://www.rockoids.com/store.html), and will also be offered shortly through book stores and other online retailers, including Amazon Books.
