From "lakeside / midnight": …
she said she loves him
she says but daddy i
need him oh his eyes
they make me radiate
feel like an
angel
in his eyes daddy i need
him like mommy says
about you when you’re
gone …
This is the essence of the fireflies. It can almost be defined as the untainted nature of love: love before happenings and circumstances begin to color over it in their dark colors, drowning the fireflies.
Drowning little fireflies is a collection of poetry that watches the fireflies struggle in and out of these colors, dying a little, and glowing a little.
