	Mystery Writers of America Presents: They fought in World War I, World War II, and in the Persian Gulf. Now the enemy is in their midst: unseen, unknown, uninvited. Michael Triplett returns to Fort Riley, and the siege begins. Michael sees impossible things-and no one believes him. People die. His 13-year old sister matures overnight. Then a soldier's corpse vanishes from its drawer in the morgue, and the malevolent atmosphere in the Tripletts' quarters explodes. At the same time, the father of Michael's friend, Tim, is acting like a man possessed. Scared for his family and for Tim, Michael helplessly watches his parents' marriage dissolve-even while he falls hard for a college freshman named Maggie.
