A first novel. Everybody has a monster in their life. Few, however,
find that their monster has scales and a taste for
live tarpon. When burnt-out charterboat skipper Winch
Winchell tells the whole port that he just saw a sea
monster in the bay, he is laughed out of town. Owing
a lot of people a lot of money, Winch retreats to Key
West to make a new start. But the oblivious captain
has no idea that he's being followed by a crazed
investment banker with a grudge and a .38, or by a
legendary sea creature who may or may not be a figment
of Winch's various addictions.
