Warrior Witch is the first book in the Bloodsong Saga, a series about the warrior woman, Bloodsong, set in the world of Scandinavian mythology. First published ten years before the popular Xena television show debuted, some have called Bloodsong "the original Warrior Princess." Sentenced to slavery, Bloodsong became an arena warrior and led slaves to freedom. Captured and doomed to die, she made a deal with Hel, the Norse Death Goddess, to live. Now, riding a skeletal Hel-horse from the Land of the Dead, aided only by weapons of steel, a witch-ring of silver, and a few good friends, Bloodsong must defy and destroy the overpowering, sorcerous evil of the Hel-traitor Nidhug, or condemn her hostage daughter to unending imprisonment in Hel's realm of Death.
