After Nick hears a dog barking at a pond near his house, he finds what appears to be a dog's skeleton in the shallows and sees the tail of a fish vanish in the murky water. It can only mean one thing-piranha have invaded the wetlands. Nick is convinced Dr. Wilder, who has recently moved into a research facility on one of the ponds, is responsible for the piranha. To Nick's alarm, Dr. Wilder's grandson Toby and Nick's older sister Sandy are dating. After convincing Sandy to get him inside Dr. Wilder's research facility, Nick is discovered, and his only way of escape-across the ponds and streams swarming with piranha!!
