	A love story that describes what a clairvoyant sees in church, what those experiences mean, and how they compare with the church's teaching. Half A Loaf is about a young man who decides that he will not be drafted during World War II and goes into a seminary instead, to become a minister. He does become a clergyman and the ministry is only a job to him. He does it well, is conscientious and likes what he is doing. In his congregation is a World War II widow who is a born clairvoyant and has a young son. By a series of unexplainable events concerning her, he begins to realize that his "job" has greater depth than he thought. The novel traces this unfoldment in his consciousness through a delightful love story, sometimes amusing, sometimes thought provoking, while various metaphysical aspects of life emerge for his consideration.
