The Last Winter provides a view of mankind's future. Chosen by the desire of a genius, a young mother and daughter's past, future and present become meaningless. In 2734, humans have certain knowledge that no other form of intelligent life exists elsewhere in their galaxy and with the possibility of the human personality existing before birth or surviving physical death deemed to be unlikely, a time develops that throws human culture into an unfamiliar and evil period. Fueled by the anxiety of isolation and separated from ethical and moral constraints, their societies struggle to maintain order unaccompanied by the once familiar fear of eternal punishment. Two insignificant and artificially grown humans though are to change that.
