   Additional Information

At first, the dazzling Jazz Ball and charity auction for L.A.'s prestigious Woodburn School of Music promises to be event planner Madeline Bean's greatest triumph to date -- both professionally and personally -- until everything goes straight to Hell. Having to contend with a heap of celebrity trash, a ranting vocal coach, his rabid girlfriend, and dueling pre-teen music prodigies is bad enough. But then the furious bidding war for a one-of-a-kind, sterling silver Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone almost results in bloodshed, and the perfect sax subsequently vanishes. Just as Madeline starts to wonder what else could possibly go wrong, she arrives home to discover a dead body in her bedroom. And then there's the red-haired stranger who's stalking her. All in all, events seem to be conspiring to drive Mad quite mad. And with the jazz cool, the sax "hot," and the martinis smoking, they may also drive her quite dead.
