      olonel Jensen could see the fallen inheads in the target area from the First Squad point man’s visual feed. Jensen watched as the First Squad moved closer to the Tinheads. Something struck him as strange about what he saw; but, he couldn’t quite put his finger on what.

    As he studied the pattern in which the destroyed Tinheads laid, it dawned on him why it looked so strange. The Tinheads were arranged in an unusually symmetrical heap of shredded metal torsos and limbs.

    Almost a perfect semicircle, thought Jensen.

    Then Jensen saw something that made him react instantly. One of the severed weapons appendages was moving.

    “Hit the deck,” Jensen screamed.

    Almost simultaneously, the Spacemarines drove themselves into alien soil. At nearly the same instant a shielded Tachyon beam passed above Squad One.

    Suddenly, Tinheads started appearing from behind the mass of metal carnage. Few were whole, most were damaged, and missing limbs even heads..
