An ancient prophecy many centuries old is wakened upon the world of Terras. The sentinels of light and their four dark counterparts are stirred to action with the birth of the ninth son. The orphan child, Storm, is thrust into a world of magical adventure where he must use his wits, courage and cunning to avoid the clutches of the dark. Accompanied by his faithful snow wolf Zira, Storm travels to the island of Meridia where he is invited to join the acclaimed Academy. His training as a catcher ends prematurely with an attack upon the wizard''s isle. The boy then embarks upon a quest to reach Cartis where the fruition of prophecy will come to pass. During his travels Storm befriends Lady Acrina of the Elghorian and unwittingly saves from certain death, Waif, the son of the Guilder, ruler of the underlife. Assisted by the elves, wallahs and other faithful friends he does indeed arrive at the ruined acropolis at Cartis. Facing impossible odds, Storm joins with the Lords of Light in a fearsome struggle against the dark.
