	In the distant future, an AI society stands as the sole inheritors of the earth after human activity has annihilated all organic life on the planet—including the humans themselves. After eight decades of war, peace has finally been secured by the victorious city-state Athens, whose governor, Maximilian, has realized his lifetime dream of unifying their society. However, new discord arises when the earth exhibits symptoms of biological regeneration—a phenomenon regarded by the ruling class as a threat to their way of life. Maximilian cannot see why biological diversity should be important to an entirely robotic society, and a separatist movement takes form, rallying behind the scholar Isaac, which threatens to destroy the peace of Athens and bring the state to civil war.
