	George Abooli encounters a UFO that had landed to make repairs, and encounters reptilian humanoids called reptons, a peaceful race from the second planet of the Tau Ceti system who have been studying Earth. He accepts an offer to travel to Tau Ceti 2, where he makes his new home, and works with the reptons to help prepare the way for formal contact with the humans. However, his efforts are hampered when a new Middle East dictator, bent on conquering the world, steps up terrorist attacks, and a major war breaks out in 2011. The Earth's people are in serious trouble, and George calls on his alien friends for help, but they follow a policy of noninterference..
