For centuries, mankind had been unable to walk on Earth. The Earth had been shrouded in a complete haze that was the aftermath of the Final War, a war that finally taught humanity the futility of solving problems and arguments through warfare.
As the Earth recovered, however, the governments of the solar system faced a choice: continue with cooperation, or try to monopolize the resources of Earth. The urge, the craving to fight, once ignited, was unstoppable.
As Earths former colonies return to again wage war for its resources, one man struggles to become a man. Bauman believes the government-projected image of who and what a soldier is, and joins up, expecting crowd control duty. Instead, he finds himself thrust into a real warzone, far from the glamorous holovids depicting war. It is only then he realizes that war is serious and that lives are lost in battle.
