The Fires of Krislan is a novel set on the continent of Drei, a politically unstable place where the excessive heat only increases the animosity between the three warring countries: Tzirian, Waptio, and Krislan. Only adding to the tensions are the fires ravaging the landscape that no one can seem to extinguish, and the rebellion fighting Krislan from within the corrupt country's borders.
When the hero, Jimmy Francis, watches his house and father get eaten by those same fires, he abandons everything he knows and sets out into the world. Soon, after meeting an official of the Krislan government, Jimmy is swept away by the rebellion to their huge fortress deep in the mountains. There Jimmy is confronted by a whole new world, a world where fates of entire races are decided behind closed doors, a world where intrigue and assassinations are the norm, a world of fear, oppression, and abandonment, and a world where he learns more than he ever wanted to know about his family's history.
