Excerpt from 'Bytes' (Heading South): "Spotted us," he muttered, his voice a deep rumble. Selwyn nodded in response and began weaving a spell, acutely aware of the anxious glances of the sailors as they prepared to fight. Bleddyn's ability to read and predict the actions of predators was uncanny, she'd learned in the months they'd been together. She finished the spell, holding it closely, waiting for the right moment to release it. He tensed, then told her, "Here they come." A few seconds later, the trio stopped their lazy circling and dove for the ship with raucous cries.
