	Iron and Intaglio is a tale of orphans and outliers against the mighty. It is the story of a boy who comes to manhood amid war, treachery and magic, and of an orphaned girl left for dead, and a hunchback with a dark past and a darker anatomical secret. Set in a surreal landscape of hollow mountains, floating islands, and carnivorous trees that hunt in packs, it depicts a kingdom on the verge of annihilation and the reclusive, vengeful Out Clans who set aside blood feuds and death oaths to defend their catacombed hills from conquest by the Dreadriders, unrivaled killers from beyond the mountains. From rag mop to oriflamme, it is a story about beginning life as one thing and winding up as something startlingly different.
