On a mission that was supposed to be a holiday, Megan becomes the focus of attention for a giant spider that has become aware of her special abilities.
The spider was once a normal spider and Megan was almost just a human female but, after the spider is exposed to the radiation of a strange comet fragment, the spider begins to grow, altering its own body structure to suit its needs; and making Megan a prisoner to its hideous form.
Trying to escape her dilemma, as well as detection by her two closest friends and the unwanted interest of two FBI agents, Megan has to flee and try to find a way to do battle with the spider herself but, wherever they go, the spider’s desire for human flesh brings all the attention that Megan could do without.
Who will survive in a battle of mental strength when, for the other, the outcome will surely mean death?
Will Megan escape the spider or will she become a prisoner; forever trapped within the giant abdomen of the spider and only kept alive by tubes feeding her from the spider itself?
Will her mind survive the horror of being forced to watch all that the spider sees as it goes about its business of feeding on human prey?
Megan may never see her friends again, nor even know of the greater danger that faces the Earth itself, for while she fights with the Spider the Earth is under threat of finally falling into the clutches of the Strange Invaders; this time the aliens may have got their strategy right as her friends seem powerless to be able to stop the alien invasion.
