Duke Dafydd mac Cuill has filled the time since his father's death-rebuilding the demesne of Amberwyven by breeding and training horses. When Gwendyrion brings him news of a woman he hasn't seen in years, the last thing he expects is to be taken prisoner by southern drug runners and be labeled a wizard and little more than a slave. His ward, Giles and Gwendyrion head south after him, the youthful knight, Colin mac Finn, and the sea sprite, Deirdre, in tow. But the south holds in store for them more than a kidnapped friend.-Gwendyrion is embroiled in a battle to protect Deirdre and the sea sprites even as Giles is drawn into the web of dark power and an ancient promise, one that threatens his very soul.-Will friendships survive dagger sharp politics and traditions steeped in elven blood? Will a sorcerer rise before elven kind falls prey to a power that seeks to dominate the world?
