Six walkers, exploring Skiddaw in the Lake District, find themselves trapped in a seemingly deserted house, high on a crag, during a storm. At the outset, no one seems very concerned about this since all are running from different things. Mark is a hedge-fund manager and Richard a lawyer who works with him, who were heading by plane to Monaco to stash away cash when they had to make an emergency landing. Andrew is on his way back south to tell his volatile wife he wants a divorce. Sarah, a bank manager, knows that her colleague, Jilly, will soon be unemployed, but Jilly has secret, more pressing concerns. Inside the house is warm and inviting and, apparently, recently occupied, though no one can be found. But then they discover the phone is dead. The television cable has been sliced through. The mist gets thicker. They meet a man called Daniel, who claims to own the house and seems to know too much about them all. The mist grows thicker still. And then the violence starts ? and no one can escape ...
