The fifth Empyrean intergalactic adventure spanning time and space. Donovan Sheffield LaCross is not entirely sane. He is a genius who has invented a machine that can observe and manipulate time and people. He has forced a teenage time traveler to steal the Esoin teleportation belts from Mars. When Roger and JJ try to intervene they are kidnapped and taken prisoner on Earth in the Milky Way. The female members of Empyrean are taken captive in the Qwoyi galaxy where they are forced to fight in death matches for their lives against alien fighters of all types. Then, they are forced to fight each other. The male members of Empyrean find themselves in mortal danger in the distant Hosh'ru galaxy where their only hope of escape are the new members on this mission. Three galaxies, three opportunities to perish. Sooner or later someone dies. Which of those three would turn out to be the GALAXY OF DEATH?
