In this fast-paced sequel to The Magic Bicycle, Danny and Murg explore whether violence solves problems, how "try, try again" works and the nature of good and evil. Are we born good or bad? Or made that way? The story continues a couple months after the end of The Magic Bicycle when a surprise appearance by an alien once again involves Danny and Murg in intrigue and time-traveling adventures.
Government Shadow Daggers are searching for the alien and the truth about what happened to Danny. Krindee's, the Cor-ror-o'lan, mission is to evaluate the people of earth, using Danny to learn about humans. Are there more friendly people like Danny, or hostile humans like the bully Spike? Will there be war or harmony?
When Danny's nemesis steals the magic bicycle, Danny must once again confront Spike, this time bringing their struggle to a conclusion. The problem? Spike is on the run, racing back through time, intent on creating a better, richer future for himself. Danny, Murg, and Krindee pursue Spike, attempting time and time again to get back their star metal bicycle and (reluctantly) help the bully deal with his brutal stepfather. As Danny, Murg and Krindee try to assist Spike and get the bicycle back, they are relentlessly hunted by Morgan LeFay who wants the power of the magic bicycle to defeat Merlin. Danny is given a magic sword. Will it help Danny eliminate all his problems?
Danny's challenges are to defeat the evil sorceress and help his worst enemy. Past visitations include: Aristotle, Plato, Shakespeare, Joan of Arc, Morgan Le Fay, and Babe Ruth.
