Ricardo J. Amado was born in Cuernavaca, Mexico on August 26, 1982. After being raised in Huntington Park (Los Angeles), CA he joined the U.S. Army in July 2001. It was during his first deployment to Iraq from August 2006 to October 2007 that he began writing "Everland" to pass what little free time he had. R.J. Amado is currently stationed at Fort Bragg, NC where he lives with his wife and four children, all girls.
