Chris Berman was born in New York. He grew up as a young boy on a diet of science fiction, watching films like "Destination Moon" and "Earth versus The Flying Saucers". He became an avid reader of authors such as John Campbell and Arthur C. Clarke at an early age. Chris was also very interested in astronomy. Chris lived a few blocks down from a serious amateur astronomer and learned about the stars and planets as well as how to photograph astronomical events and grind mirrors and lenses to make telescopes. Chris Berman is also a space flight enthusiast with extensive knowledge of both the US and Russian Space Programs.

Chris lives in Saint Augustine, Florida, with his wife Lareesa (from Ukraine) and his to daughters, Marina and Sabrina.
