Patricia Bow is a writer of fiction and non-fiction for
children age 10 and up. She began writing fantasy fiction at the age of 12 and does not intend ever to stop. Born and
raised in Ottawa, she lived for a while in Toronto and then
moved to Kitchener, Ontario. Holding degrees in history and
library science as well as a diploma in journalism, she
worked as a librarian at the University of Toronto and a
reporter on a small-town Ontario newspaper. She now works as a publications officer/writer in the Communications
Department of the University of Waterloo. Her home life
includes a husband, Eric, and a cat, Pooka. With a full-time job as well as a fiction writing career, she says she has little time for sleep, let alone hobbies. Bow is a member of CANSCAIP (the Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers).
