John Cary is a multifaceted individual. Aside from holding degrees in horticulture, environmental design, and political science with a minor in history and education, he is also a doctor of Oriental medicine and has a thirty-year martial arts background that has allowed him discipline and respect for life and others.

An avid weight trainer and gardener, he also loves fishing. Life fascinates him, and he believes that it is a continual learning experience filled with physical, mental and spiritual adventures. Despite the ten years of post secondary education, he feels he can and does learn from people and experiences and his poetry reflects these various aspects of his character and nature. Furthermore, being disciplined in many different areas, we may expect other works in the near future in the areas of psychology, history and humor.
