Steven R. Cowan, by his own account, came to writing in a particularly odd way. Some people are blessed by knowing their calling at an early age, but Steven did not truly find his niche as a writer until his mid-thirties. His wife Mary had encouraged him for years to write because she sensed he had a knack for it.
Steven found the idea of writing amusing until one morning in the summer of 1989, when he awoke from a horrendous nightmare. He told Mary of the dream, and she said, "You really ought to write a book about that." Finally, Steven listened and began the six-year task of writing his first novel.
