Ruth Marie Davis was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She and her family resided in the Southern California area until the age of twelve, when they relocated to Northern California. Married at the age of eighteen, she bore two children; a son (now 24) and a daughter (now 18).
Ruth Marie states that even at a very young age, she was fascinated by the Vietnam War and has always had a special place in her heart for veterans.
At the age of twenty, Ruth Marie found employment in her local County Veterans Services Office and ultimately became a beloved advocate to all veterans. Known in the veterans' community as "The Guardian Angel," she continued to battle the Veterans Administration on behalf of her many clients for over twenty-years. When a work-related back injury forced her into taking a medical retirement in September of 2000, she began to write for pleasure to alleviate the boredom. It was then that The Reclamation Project was born. At her second husband's urging, she submitted her manuscript to a publishing company, who accepted it immediately. Mrs. Davis is currently working on a second novel, and hopes to continue her literary career indefinitely.
