Fred Downs is a retired Department of Defense executive who has also been a medic, an X-ray technician and a bartender. He has lived in Europe and the Far East, but has now retired to Martinez, Georgia.

A former lay minister and member of the Gideon ministry, Downs has turned to writing to continue pursuing his interest in his faith and teaching that faith to others.
