Martin J. Gidron is a writer and freelance journalist, who lives with his family in Salisbury, Maryland. Born in Detroit in 1969, Gidron grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, earned a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Chicago in 1991, and lived in Israel for six years, where he acquired Israeli citizenship and served briefly in the Israeli army. He has worked as a journalist in Israel and the United States.
Gidron's fiction has appeared in Jewish Currents, and his poetry has appeared in that publication as well as Voices Israel, Dragonfly: East-West Haiku Quarterly, and Emergence: Undergraduate Jewish Voices. Essays by him have appeared in Midstream and Tikkun magazines.
