Brenda Munday Gifford has written from a very young age, short stories and poems mostly. She entered a poetry contest at my grade school and won first place against over 200 entries from 1st through 8th grade students.
In high school she wrote a novella that her English professor read and liked enough to have the class read and study. From then on she was known as the writer on campus. People asked her to write poetry for them or Christmas cards for their families.
She has also had a poem published by the International Poetry Society as the first poem in the book in their annual 2007 edition.
Although poetry is a love of hers, her dream was always to write a novel. It wasn’t until she became pregnant that she began the idea of the story that would spur her forward to write a full length story. The recurring nightmare gave her the feel for the storyline and once her son was born with Spina Bifida she knew most of the dream was actually a premonition.
