Valjeanne Jeffers-Thompson was born in Tuskegee, Alabama: the first daughter of Lance and Trellie Jeffers. She is a graduate of Spelman College, and is pursuing an MA at North Carolina Central University. Valjeanne currently resides in Durham, North Carolina and is a member of the Carolina African American Writer’s Collective.

She writes both poetry and speculative fiction.
