Elizabeth Joy is a U.S. Air Force wife and veteran with two children. Her diverse work experience--mechanic, stockbroker's assistant, teacher, day care director, and retail assistant manager--contributes to the depth of her characters. She stays out of trouble by homeschooling her children and writing, and when she has a rare free moment she enjoys reading and crocheting. She lives in Del Rio, Texas, and is eagerly awaiting the day when she can escape the desert.

Both Scott and Elizabeth are transplanted Yankees (Scott from Pennsylvania and Elizabeth from Michigan) who hope eventually move north. They met while stationed together in North Carolina.
