J.L. Krueger, a retired U.S. Army officer, lives in North Carolina with his wife Deborah, three teenage children and three dogs. Now retired from consulting and training soldiers in Kuwait and Iraq, he is devoting most of his time to writing, genealogy and history. He spares some time for landscaping projects and research trips hunting ancestors. Fantasy helps him keep his balance and has been his favorite pastime for almost seventeen years. Once all the children are out of the house, he and his wife plan to split their time between North Carolina's mountains and Scotland.
