Edwina Berkman, whose pseudonym is Dana Reed, is the author of seven horror novels published by Dorchester under their Leisure Books line, several of which have repeatedly sold out and been reprinted. Two of her novels were sold in foreign markets-- Brazil and Poland.

Most of the ideas for her occult novels came from the fifteen years of interviews Berkman conducted with high priests of satanic covens, witches who admitted practicing the black arts, brief contact with occult investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, modern day Druids who practiced black majick, and many others involved in occult practices.

Berkman also worked in the past along with the Special Investigations Unit of the local police department in the area where she now lives, assisting detectives with their investigations of dangerous and illegal occult activities. She quit when asked to assist with occult murder investigations. Being asked to view corpses to determine which cult killed them--Satanic, Palo Mayombe, Santeria, Voodoo, etc.--went beyond her sense of public duty.

Edwina Berkman was born in Peekskill, New York, in Westchester County. She now lives on a barrier island in Florida with her husband.
