Berin Stephens was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and grew up in the thriving metropolis of Chugiak. After graduating from BYU with bachelors and masters degrees in music, Berin set up a music teaching business in Alaska and then in Utah. He teaches saxophone at Utah Valley University and performs in several professional bands.
