  About the author

Tamara Thorne's interest in parapsychology began long before she could pronounce the word. Growing up on a diet of science fiction and horror, she was writing stories and telling ghost stories by second or third grade, and hasn't ever stopped. A skeptic of the Fortean variety, she has also rigged seances (to see if she could get away with it), told fortunes (ditto), and busted a few false ghosts. She's also been delighted to experience phenomena that defy known logic. If she's given a laptop, a cat, a haunted house, a stack of books and Monty Python videos, and copies of New Scientist and The Fortean Times, she can stay out of trouble for extended periods of time.

Labeled a horror writer, but often incorporating science into the mix, her first novel, Winter Scream, written as Chris Curry, appeared in the early 1990's. It was followed by three more Currys, Trickster, Panic, and Thunder Road. She then moved with her editor to another publisher, and began publishing under her married name, Thorne.

In 2002 the Curry novel, Panic, retitled Bad Things, was released under the Thorne name. It is followed by The Forgotten, which incorporates reality-based science "fiction" into its ghostly plot. Books are planned for 2003 and 2004, including the rerelease of Thunder Road.

She hates writing short stories, but has one notoriously naughty one in the erotic horror anthology Dark Seductions.
