Born Sept 17, 1937 in Oil City, Pennsylvania, raised in Erie until his parents moved to a farm in western New York State. Fell in love with Andre Norton, Heinlein, and Isaac Asimov early on, developed an interest in practical psychology. The science behind the science fiction he creates is largely memetics, for which he creates strange worlds of his own.
Lloyd's interests have evolved to include personal freedom issues, which he feels are now threatened by outsiders to our country as well as the normal contrary forces already hard at work within. Good, true science is the only real defense he feels we have against these forces, whether on a battlefield, or making inroads into territory they have usurped at home. Lloyd wed with Mary-Lou Foster on St. Valentine's Day in 1959. "It took her ten years to figure out what she had gotten herself into," he grins. "By that time, it was too late for her to change her mind. We're still married."
